Preliminary
First off, you'll need the basic tool set.
Essentially you just need something to cut, something to glue, and opposable thumbs.
The rest are matters of opinion that veteran crafters quarrel over endlessly.
If you aren't already set in your ways about a basic armory, here's a run-down of my kit:
Glue:
Aleene's Quick Dry Tacky Glue (a recent addition to my arsenal, I find it helps cut down
the excessive build times associated with using 110lb Cardstock [199g/m^2 Letter sized
paper], which is what I use for all builds)
Elmer's Super Glue (for making the larger seams in macro construction go a bit
faster/dry a little stronger)
Spare scraps of plastic (I like using the blank packing discs you find in spindles of
CD-R/DVD-Rs) to use as a palette for glue
Toothpicks (to apply small amounts of glue at a time [and satisfy any oral fixation
one might have])
Cutting tools:
Fiskars standard orange-handled scissors (Xacto blades have the tendency to push
the edges of the paper out, leaves large white edges, thus my layouts are designed with
scissor-cutting in mind, which yields extremely thin edges, even on cardstock [compression
from blades coming from both directions, as opposed to displacement from a single blade
moving in one direction])
Xacto knife using standard #11 blades (good to keep a few spare blades on hand)
A self-healing cutting mat
Other tools:
Tweezers
A spare chopstick (used as a scoring tool)
A highlighter (used to roll the creases of any folds)
A Sharpie (or any color-appropriate markers, for use in minor touch-up)
And so the adventure begins...
Chapter 1: Legs
Construct parts 1 and 2, 3 and 4, then attach
Attach parts 5-10
Attach parts 11 and 12 with the "b" labeled tabs facing outward
(these will attach to the dress)
Repeat the process on the second leg for parts 13-24
